It all started when…

Established in 1973, our organization has been supporting families in the community for many years. The Slave Lake Child Care Society is a non-profit daycare organization located in Slave Lake, Alberta.

Our centre is governed by a volunteer board made up mainly of parents and other interested community members. We provide a safe, caring place where parents can feel confident leaving their children when care is needed.

Our programs are designed to create an environment that supports learning, growth, and development. Our childcare workers provide a variety of activities that encourage intellectual, cultural, social, emotional, and physical development. These activities may include language development, creative arts, dramatic play, building and construction activities, supervised play, field trips, games, and sports.

We recognize that every child has different needs. Our staff are here to guide, encourage, and support each child. Children are encouraged to interact with their friends and participate in both active and quiet activities in a safe and healthy environment where they feel accepted, respected, and secure.

Our daycare staff are trained to meet the social, physical, intellectual, and emotional needs of the children in our care. In addition to Early Childhood Development training, all staff also have child and infant CPR and First Aid certification.

The Daycare Centre is set up to provide a safe, welcoming, and pleasant learning environment for all children.
